Closing Remarks

Four years ago, Eugene "Speed" Bella was a candidate for the same at-large seat on the South Bend School Board.

There were less candidates (about 18) than there are this year for two at-large seats.

Speed finished 11th in that crowded field then.

He received votes in all but one district . . . and in that one district only 22 votes were cast for the school board. He believes that proves his message was well-received throughout the corporation district.

Speed is the only ONE candidate (other than the incumbents) from that group back to run again this year. He believes that speaks volumes about his concern for the formal education of South Bend's children.

Actively listen and be considerate of others' opinions and viewpoints.

Identify opportunities, welcome challenge and be open-minded.

Be willing to try new ideas, be proactive and explore all alternatives.
